TEHRAN, Jun. 04 (MNA) – Iranian president has congratulated the national volleyball team on receiving an Olympic quota after 52 years.

Hassan Rouhani, in a message published on Saturday, felicitated the precious victory of Iranian volleyball players over Poland at the 2016 Olympic men’s volleyball qualifier in Japan and the booking of a historic place in Rio Olympics as a lifelong dream.

President Rouhani outlined the victory over the world’s volleyball powers as a great achievement for young decent people of Iran adding “the triumph marks a manifestation of the efforts and hopes of the honorable Iranian nation for reaching better tomorrow.”

The official also thanked all the officials, coaches and athletes involved in the successful outcome wishing them further superiority in upcoming sportive encounters.

Also in a separate message, Iran’s FM Spokesman Jaberi Ansari felicitated Iran’s securing a place at volleyball tournaments of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Hossein Jaberi Ansari expressed deep contentedness towards the historic victory asserting “recent year successes by Iranian volleyball players reveals that, in addition to their usual upsurge in individual sports, Iranian athletes can also turn to be triumphant in team sports with good management as well as steely determination and perseverance.”
