STOCKHOLM, Jun. 01 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has met his Swedish counterpart during his tour of the Scandinavia and Baltic Sea countries.

On Wednesday, Mr. Zarif and Ms. Margot Wallström discussed possibilities of improved cultural and economic relations, where she congratulated Zarif on hitting a nuclear deal with the western powers and highlighted few centuries of historical relations.

Zarif for his part believed that Iranian expatriates in Sweden would provide a cultural bridge between two nations; “joint commercial forum and Iran’s economic delegation to Sweden indicate necessity of improvements should be brought to bilateral trade post-JCPOA,” he added.

Both foreign ministers discussed developments in the Middle East and North Africa. An MoU and a joint statement will also be signed by both FMs. Zarif will be in an official lunch feast given by Ms. Wallström before a joint press conference later on Wednesday.
