TEHRAN, May 18 (MNA) – In time with Croatian president’s visit to Tehran, a new round of Iran-Croatia negotiations has kicked off over expansion of ties in power and energy industries as well as plant construction.

Assistant Minister at Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia Mario Antonic met and talked with Alireza Daemi, Deputy of Minister for planning and economic affairs at Ministry of Energy in Iran on Tuesday in Tehran.

Iran’s Alireza Daemi said post-JCPOA has provided vast grounds for conducting joint projects between Iranian and foreign countries saying “technical joint venture between Iranian and Croatian firms as well as launch of great projects in water, sewage and power industries in other countries can be pursued.”

“Iran conducts electricity exchange with all neighboring countries as well as that exports technical services and engineering equipment to world countries,” stated the official adding “the country possesses massive resources of gas and great capacities for electricity production through combined-cycle power plants, gas turbines, renewable energies in solar, wind and geothermal fields.”

Daemi noted the existence of a variety of options for collaboration between Iranian and Croatian firms asserting “for long, certain Croatian companies had working connections with Iran’s Energy Ministry.”

Mario Antonic, for his part, said despite being a small country, Croatia owns experiences and technologies which can flourish in collaboration with Iranian counterparts in order to bring about prosperous economic conditions for both sides; “Iran marks one of the greatest potentials for cooperation with Croatia in the field of energy.”

Croatia’s assistant minister of entrepreneurship and crafts said “our private sector companies are willing to boost ties with Iran in numerous fields including wind energy, water, sewage, oil, gas, waste recycling, construction, road construction as well as oil, gas and petrochemical storage.”

“In current circumstances, the path has been paved for development of cooperation between the two countries in power and energy industries,” the Croatian official reiterated.
