TEHRAN, May 14 (MNA) – Three Iranian fencers have found their ways to Table of 64 at Senior World Cup Men’s Sabre underway in Spain.

Iran’s national sabre fencing team, comprising Mojtaba Abedini, Ali Pakdaman, Mohammad Rahbari and Farzad Baher Arasbaran, is competing at the 34th Senior World Cup Men’s Sabre Individual and Team dubbed as ‘Villa de Madrid’ which kicked off on May 13.

The first two days of the event are devoted to Individual competitions with participation of 187 fencers from 37 countries.

Meanwhile, three out of four Iranian sabre fencers have managed to reach Table of 64 of the tournament while Mohammad Rahbari dropped out of the tournament.

Rahbari had reached the Table of 96 by defeating Spanish, Hong Kong, Chilean, British and Colombian rivals before he conceded a defeat against the French fencer.

Iran’s Mojtaba Abedini was directly led to the Table of 64 for being among the top 16 fencers at present at Spain’s Senior World Cup.

However, Ali Pakdamanand Farzad Baher Arasbaran had to subdue several rivals from various states by demonstrating great athletic skills before advancing to this round of the sportive event.

Table of 64 competitions will take place today on May 14 with Pakdaman, Abedini and Baher Arasbaran facing German, Kazakh and Russian fencers, respectively.
