Gholamhossein Dehghani addressed the UN General Assembly on behalf of the NAM Conference on Tuesday in New York, where he criticized the disability and incompetence of this international organization in addressing the ongoing crisis in Gaza Strip. In his rebuttal of the sheer indolence, Mr. Dehghani pointed to many cases of crimes committed by the Zionist regime including attacking civilians, putting siege on Gaza Strip, demolishing Palestinains’ homes and continuing construction of Jewish quarters in the West Bank, and desecrating the distinct Islamic identity of the Beit Lahm (Beitolmoqaddas), and confiscation by coercion of Palestinians’ lands.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran on behalf of the NAM Conference officially announces solidarity with Palestinians and its support for their resistance against Zionists; the UN has shown to be systematically indolent and lacking resolve to address the Gaza issue and the Zionist regime is allowed to continue its colonialist measures without any punishment,” he told the session. “Crimes of the regime are examples of violation of all international rules especially Geneva Fourth Convention; NAM Conference believes that there is an imperative need for the international community and the UN to address and end suffering of the Palestinians and the occupationism of the Zionist regime, which had so far been a source of grave crises in the region.”
“The NAM Conference condemns Israel’s frequent violation of Lebanese territorial integrity; since the regime’s self-announced claim is to annex Golan Heights and to drastically change the region’s ethnic, legal, and geographical composition, NAM officially urges that Israel retreat from the Heights and Resolutions 242 and 338 be implemented,” he concluded.
