TEHRAN, Apr. 16 (MNA) – President Rouhani arrived in Ankara late Friday in order to have meetings with high-ranking Turkish officials, following an official invitation by the president of Turkey.

Upon his arrival at the Esenboğa Airport in Ankara, Rouhani was welcomed by Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yilmaz, Iranian ambassador to Ankara and Iran's embassy staff at Ankara International Airport.

The official welcoming ceremony will be held on Saturday at the Turkish presidential palace.

Rouhani is set to meet with President Erdoğan and attend the meeting of high-ranking officials of Iran and Turkey.

A number of agreements and cooperation documents will also be signed between the officials of both countries.

The official visit of Iran's president will contribute to and strengthen the political dialogue and cooperation with Turkey, whom they share deep-rooted historical and cultural ties with.
