TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – Iranian and Italian officials signed 7 MoUs in different areas of cooperation during the visit of Italian PM Matteo Renzi and his entourage to Tehran.

Iranian and Italians signed 7 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in both private and public sections in presence of President Hassan Rouhani of Iran and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in Tehran.

A Memorandum of Understanding on tourism and cultural cooperation is among the agreements signed in Tehran in addition to an industrial MoU signed between Iranian energy ministry and Italian ministry of economic development. Also RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Italian Rail Network) and The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways set the frame for future cooperation.

Italian oil and gas giant ENI and Iran’s NIGEC (National Iranian Gas Exports Company) were the other two entities from the two countries to sign an agreement for expansion of ties. Iranian Airports Holding Company (IAC) and the operator of Milan airports (SEA) made another couple of companies of two countries to sign an agreement. Iranian Car Gas System Company and Italy’s Danieli agreed to cooperate in the field of producing materials needed for car industry.

Accompanied by a 250-strong political and economic delegation, Italy’s Prime Minister Matteo Renzi arrived in Tehran early on Tuesday and was received by Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh at the airport and was later officially welcomed by President Rouhani during a ceremony.
