TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – Iran’s men and women judo teams will depart Tehran for Tashkent on Tuesday to participate in the 25th edition Asian Judo Championships (AJC) in Uzbekistan.

Asian Judo Championships will kick off in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on Friday April 15 lasting for three days.

Accordingly, Iran’s 25-memebr squad will leave Tehran for Istanbul on Tuesday afternoon and will head Tashkent after a few hours.

Iran men’s outfit consists of Naser Naseripour, Alireza Khojasteh, Mohammad Mohammadi, Vahid Bana, Mahdi Fathipour, Saeid Molaei, Saeid Moradi, Javad Mahjoub as well as Ahmad Naghedi Hosseinzadeh.

The Iranian team, coached by Mahboubeh Khorshidi, comprises Tahereh Azarpeivand in -48kg, Elham Bahrami in -52kg, Donya Aghaei in 63kg and Zahra Bagheri in 78kg.

On the first day of the event on Friday April 15, male Judokas of -60, -66 and -73kg as well as female athletes of -48, -52, -57 and -63kg weight categories will meet rivals while the competitions for the rest of weight groups will convene on Saturday April 16 and the team event are scheduled to take place on Sunday April 17.

The 25th edition of Asian Judo Championships in individual and team sections will be held from 15th to 17th April 2016 at Sports Complex, Tashkent, where the Iranian referee Ali Mohammad Azizi will also judge at the event.
