TEHRAN, Apr. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s Referee Director of Judo Ali Mohammad Azizi will depart for Uzbekistan to judge at 2016 Asian Judo Championships (AJC).

The 25th edition of Asian Judo Championships in individual and team sections will be held from 14th to 17th April 2016 at Sports Complex, Tashkent, where one Iranian referee will be present at the event.

Ali Mohammad Azizi will leave Tehran for Tashkent on Tuesday at the invitation of Judo Union of Asia in order to attend coordination classes before arbitrating the tournament.

The classes will convene for two days in theoretical and practical sections under the supervision of Judo Union of Asia refereeing director.

Judo Union of Asia has invited the most prestigious referees to judge AJC 2016, including Azizi.

Mohhamad Ali Azizi, Grade A judge of International Judo Federation (IJF), has so far umpired several Asian and world competitions for both juniors and seniors.

Meanwhile, Iran’s women judo team that had last participated in Asian Judo Championships in 2012, will compete in 2016 edition of the sport event in Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that there are about 220 judo clubs with about 200,000 judokas in Iran and at least 500 people are in charge of judo in the country.
