MOSCOW, Mar. 15 (MNA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Monday that most of the Russian troops present in Syria, will withdraw from the Arab nation, as announced by different international press media.

President Putin stated that according to his opinion, most of the work in Syrian national territory is already fulfilled, so the presence of Russian soldiers will no longer be required, after a warlike conflict started nearly five years ago.

"The task presented to the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces was completely accomplished. So consequently, I order the Ministry of Defense, to start the withdrawal of our soldiers and troops from the soil of the Arab Republic of Syria," he said.

Putin added that he has full confidence in the dispersion process of the troops of Russia from the Syrian territory, and that it becomes a crucial stimulus to go for a peaceful resolution of the problems created by the conflict.

Syrian President Bashar al Assad was grateful to Putin for the assistance of the Russian troops in their struggle against terrorism and the help given to Syrian civilians.
