Speaking at a session attended by Iranians residing in New Zealand on Sunday morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said “it was the people of Iran who broke the sanctions against the country leading the world powers to cooperate with us.”
“The new conditions need to be exploited properly,” noted Zarif adding “the Saudi regime seeks to exacerbate the threats against Iran and has lowered oil prices to defeat Iran.”
He recalled that “fortunately, the drop in global oil prices from 50 to about 33 dollars damaged Saudi economy as well as that of their partners in the Persian Gulf as they are applying for loans.”
He added the “Iranians are the real champions in all scenes, reiterating that the resistance and awareness of the people has shown that Iranian nation should not be threatened but rather admired and appreciated.”
“The Iranians living abroad mark the best-educated and best examples of a rich and noble culture and they are the best messengers of dialogue and understanding,” underlined Zarif.
Iran foreign minister also referred to the imposition of sanctions against the country, adding “severe conditions were imposed on the people of Iran increasing the costs of doing business with Iran; however, the Iranian mass participation in the February 26 elections has frustrated the enemies who intended to detach the people from the government by creating pressure and sanctions.”
At the end of his remarks, Zarif stressed the need to benefit from the capacity of Iranians residing in foreign countries for the growth and development of the country.
