TEHRAN, Mar. 02 (MNA) – Foreign ministers of Iran and Romania, underlining the need to boost economic tire, announced the reestablishment of Iran-Romania Joint Economic Commission in near future.

The remarks were made in a meeting between Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Romanian counterpart Lazar Comanescu on Tuesday in Tehran.

Zarif, while deeming Tehran-Bucharest ties as positive, underlined that the level of relations has been limited due to illegal sanctions, “however, the politicians of both countries possess the will to improve the ties.”

“Iran-Romania Joint Economic Commission is due to be held in Bucharest after 12 years of cessation; a roadmap would be drawn for economic cooperation,” FM Zarif said.
He reiterated “we discussed different issues, including energy, banking, auto-industry, agriculture, tourism and Iran's access to Europe through Black Sea.”

Romanian foreign minister, for his part, asserted that the time is ripe for strengthening the ties and that the Romanian government is determined to resumes all-out cooperation with Tehran.

Comanescu, calling the transport corridor through Black Sea as a strategic chance for Iranian companies to boost international trade relations, underlined the need to improve ties in all possible fields.

Noting that Iran and Romania can help improve stability and security in the two regions, he said that regional and international issues were discussed during the meeting between the two foreign ministers.
