"One of the major areas of my talks with Russian officials was the bilateral cooperation in Syria," said Ali-Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Iran’s Leader, to Iran’s IRIB on Thursday.
The former Iranian foreign minister reiterated that both Iran and Russia agreed upon resistance as the sole solution to rescue Syrians and along that political negotiations sans terrorists can end the 6 years of mayhem in the Arab country.
"Mr. Putin reassured that he will keep his word to save the Syrian nation from terrorists," quoted the veteran diplomat.
Leader’s senior adviser on international affairs held that terrorists believed to have the upper hand in Geneva III, but the defeats in Aleppo made them leave the table to conspire a new plot for the next round of talks.
Velayati, who also heads Iran's Strategic Research Center, highlighted that the Islamic Republic of Iran is certain that "the Syrian nation and government along with the resistance axis are the final victors of the crisis, even in face of all difficulties."
