TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – Iranian wrestlers have reached final round of the second day of the 2016 Paris International Tournament.

The second day of the tournament was an eventful day for Iranians of second four weight categories where they reached final round. In 61kg, where 10 athletes compete, Hassan Rahimi defeated Quentin Jean-René Sticker of France 12-2 in the first round. Iran’s second representative Iman Sadeghi also defeated Mongolian Khash-Erdene Byambadorj 12-2. In the second they faced each other where Rahimi was victor by fall to reach to semifinals. Rahimi won the Giorgi Revazishvili 8-0 to reach to final round. Iman Sadeghi will face French Quentin Jean-René Sticker in the second chance and if succeeds to defeat him, will have Revaziashvili, the Georgian whom Rahimi slashed in the semifinal.

In 70kg, Seyed Ahmad Mohammadi crushed Finish Matias Juhani Savola 10-0 in the first round and defeated Hungarian Balazs Kalman with the same result to reach to semifinals where he defeated Azamat Nurykau of Belorussia in road to final. His final rival will be Georgian Avtandil Kentchadze.

In 86kg, where 15 athletes competed, Alireza Karimi won Russian Adam Abdulvakhabov by technical fall 10-0 only to have and defeat Georgian Irakli Mtsituri by technical fall 11-0. Karimi also defeated Belorussian Aliaksandr Hushtyn by technical fall 12-1. He will face Hungarian Istvan Vereb in final.

In 125kg, Komeil Ghasemi won the winner of World Championship bronze medalist Tervel Ivaylov Dlagnev of USA 3-2 and similarly crushed Georgian Zuriko Urtashvili by Injury Default 6-0. He also won Hungarian Daniel Ligeti 11-2 in semifinals and will face Luis Felipe Vivenes Urbaneja of Venezuela in final round.

Abbas Tahan, Iran’s second representative in the category defeated Belorussian Aleksei Nikolaev 9-1 in the first round, but was defeated by Hungarian Daniel Ligety 5-1 and was eliminated from the competition.
