TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – Iran’s shooting squad has obtained its 5th quota in Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Mahleqa Jambozorg won the silver medal in 50 meter rifle three positions during Asian Shooting Championship in India. She won silver in competition with seven other shooters from South Korea, Singapore, India, Mongolia, Japan, and Malaysia to secure Iran’s 5th place in Rio Olympics. Singaporean shooter came first and South Korean shooter came third.

Iran’s other shooters Maryam Talebi and Narges Imamgholinejad failed to succeed to final round. Iran has so far won 3 medals (1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze). Asian Shooting Championship is held in India and opened in January 25 and will continue to February 3 with a total of 531 shooters in all modules.
