The first round of Karate1 WKF Premier League began on January 22 in the French capital with the participation of 1012 karateka from 74 countries while the Iranian squad finished their career bagging one gold, on silver and one bronze medal.
Iran’s representative at -67kg weight category subdued Georgian, French, Austrian, Saudi and Japanese rivals before reaching the finals of the competitions where he managed to down the host country’s athlete claiming the gold medal.
In his six encounters, Ahmadi secured 21 points while his rivals only managed to gain three points.
The Iranian team finished fifth in the final ranking with Ahmadi’s gold, Pourshib’s silver and Abbasali’s bronze.
The leading team turned out to be France with three gold, three silver and 10 bronze medals while Japan finished runner-up followed by Turkey in the third place.
France’s Karate1 tournament concluded on January 24.
