Written and directed by Ghasem Badirkhani, the short film will now be screened in LA Shorts Awards. The film relates the sufferings and challenges facing a young women where an unsuccessful affair turns her life to worse. The film was completed in September 2015. Arezou Anvarian, Raha Bazrafshan, Davoud Mohammadabadi, Mohammad Reza Pashnameh, Reza Barzanouei, Seyed Reza Pouragha, Samira Arabi, Ramezan Naghdifar, Morteza Dorbeheshti, Amin Alborzi, Samira Fallah, Ahmad Esfandiari, Andisheh Yadi were among the major cast of the short film.
Badirkhani had been a participant in France festival of mobile short films with ‘Do Not Let the Air be Trapped’ before the present short film. ‘A Cigarette,’ is the third of Badirkhani’s international works with Siamak Javid as director of photography.
