At the end of the official visit of Afghan Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah to Tehran, a joint statement was released on bilateral cooperation of Iran and Afghanistan.
In the statement it reads that the Afghan official made the visit after an official invitation made by First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Es’hagh Jahangiri and voicing content with his visit the Afghan CEO invites Jahangiri to Kabul.
Describing the meetings with President Rouhani and Iran’s Leader constructive, Abdullah voiced gratitude for hospitable and warm reception offered by Iranians.
The Afghan official also made hope that his first visit to Tehran pave the way for expansion and deepening of bilateral ties in all areas of cooperation.
The statement also recounts the official visit of Afghan delegation to Chabahar port city of south-eastern Iran and the tour of facilities and equipment of the hub in addition to meeting with provincial officials and Afghan traders and businesspeople in the Iranian city.
The statement is followed by 29 articles of agreement on different issues of bilateral interests including measures for reaching a comprehensive MoU on joint cooperation.
Forming a joint commission on border cooperation and border river agreements were other area of articles of the statement.
