TEHRAN, Jan. 02 (MNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Saudi charge d'affaires in Tehran on Saturday to protest the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian summoned Saudi Charge d'Affaires in Tehran Ahmad al-Movaled and voiced strong protest of Islamic Republic of Iran over sectarian measure of the Saudi regime in executing a Shia cleric under the pretext of terrorism.

Saudi officials have announced that just 4 Shia figures have been among the 47 executed on Saturday and the rest have been people linked to al Qaeda terrorist group, while Iran and many intelligence services of the world identify the Saudi government as the main supporter of Wahhabi terrorists like al Qaeda, the ISIL, and al Nusra Front.
