TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) – In a message to his Iraqi counterpart, Iran’s foreign minister has congratulated the liberation of Ramadi city from ISIL terrorists.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a message to Iraqi FM Ibrahim al-Jafari, congratulated the Iraqi government and nation on the liberation of Ramadi, the provincial capital of al-Anbar, from Takfiri terrorists.

The Iranian FM has expressed confidence that other parts of the country will also get rid of terrorists in the light of the continuation of national unity and courage among the Iraqi armed forces and its people, including the Kurds, Sunni and Shia Muslims.

The city of Ramadi, located 110 kilometers west of Iraqi capital Baghdad, was liberated on Monday, following two months of constant fighting and at least two weeks of street clashes with ISIL terrorist group.
