The American efforts to use the funds of Iran’s central bank to compensate the victims of terrorist attacks that had nothing to do with Iran is a blatant violation of law, said Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari on Thursday in reaction to the alignment between US Supreme Court, House Republicans and the Obama administration to block and use Bank Markazi’s funds stored in Citibank accounts in New York.
It is against international law and based on false accusations, underlined the Iranian diplomat.
He held that the measure is like mocking justice and law to force an innocent country to pay for the damage of acts which were conducted by citizens of certain allies of the US.
I warn that if any hand is laid on belongings of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its organizations and nationals, the US government is responsible for the loss, reiterated Jaber Ansari.
Jaberi Ansari stressed that the recent move of the Americans proved to be keeping grudge against the Islamic Republic of Iran and being under the influence of Zionists lobbies.
There is no sign of efforts undertaken by the American government to restore trust among Iranian people and government, noted the Iranian diplomat.
