TEHRAN, Dec. 24 (MNA) –Iran’s minister of trade and his counterpart from the EAEC signed a preliminary pact on preferential tariffs on Wednesday in Tehran.

This is the start of serious Iran-EAEC negotiations for more trade agreements, said Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh after signing a temporary pact on preferential tariffs between Islamic Republic of Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) on Wednesday in Tehran.

The Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) Andrey Slepnev signed the agreement on behalf of the Community.

The Iranian minister announced that the agreement reached between Iran and EAEC will benefit all state-members of the EAEC and there would be many trade facilities available for all sides involved.

Nematzadeh highlighted that Mr. Slepnev is after long term cooperation and bigger agreements with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This is the desire of all sides of the agreement to see the agreement put into practice, reassured the Iranian official.

Slepnev, for his part in the meeting, described the agreement an opening chapter in Iran-EAEC relations and added that he is seeking ambitious growth of ties with Iran.
