An official statement of the institution in charge of the defensive system of the Kremlin highlights that, in the meeting for half an hour, the parts evaluated the perspective of combining efforts in the war against international terrorism.
The communiqué adds that Paris and Moscow exchanged points of view on the current situation in Syria and Iraq, as long as the delegation headed by Le Drian received information about the main results of the air support from the Russian aviation to the Army of earth of Damascus.
The communiqué stated that Moscow and Paris left perseverance of their concern for the visible signs of activation of the ISIL and other terrorist groups in the north of Africa and they evaluated the situation in Libya.
In statements to federal channel Rossiya 24, Shoigú insisted that by means of the union of efforts of all the interested countries the terrorist threat to the citizens from Paris, London, Moscow and other European territories, could be controlled.
It points that the debate of the terms of a possible exchange of intelligence information linked with the ISIL and other terrorist groups, mainly the related with Russian and French citizens fighting in the extremist lines in the Middle East.
On the other hand, the French Minister, announced previously to this trip to Moscow, that one of the objectives of his visit was to debate on the listing of armed groups in Syria considered terrorists for one part or the other, as well as the desire of Moscow to intensify the attacks against the ISIL.
However, Le Drian was not explicit regarding the result of the debate of those topics.
The encounter of the Minister of Defense was carried out by responsibility of the leaders of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and his French counterpart, François Hollande, after the visit of the French President to Moscow, last November 26.
That meeting in the Kremlin had to know, 48 hours before, the news on a Russian Su-24 tactical bombardier brought down by the Turkish Air Force when it tried to complete an antiterrorist mission inside the Syrian territory.
