TEHRAN, Dec. 17 (MNA) – Eminent elections of Parliament and Assembly of Experts are proceeding through their legal steps and the political ambiance of Iran is getting heated.

Those who want to compete for a chair in Iran’s Assembly of Experts can register in Iran’s ministry of internal affairs within the period of December 17 to 23.

The ministry has formed a special committee for running the election and during today and the following 6 days the personnel are at desks to enlist to-be-candidates for the qualification process.

The applicants can refer directly to the election committee or have their legal representatives to pass for them.

Two days after the deadline for the Assembly of Experts, those who want to run for Majlis (Iran’s Parliament) can take action and enlist for the election.

Within the next month the qualification and background of the enlisted applicants would be scrutinized and finally the names would be announced to the local governments responsible for holding the election in constituencies.

Qualified candidates for the Assembly of Experts are permitted to campaign for two weeks from February 11 to 24 while Parliament runners have a week for campaigning since February 18 to 24.

Both elections of Parliament and Assembly of Experts are slated to be held simultaneously on Friday February 26, 2016, across the country and in embassies of the Islamic Republic of Iran all over the word.     

Meanwhile Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli along with chairman of the Election Committee of the Country, Mohammad Hossein Moghimi, visited the special committee of election formed in his under-command ministry and was briefed about the latest measures taken by the committee, early on Thursday morning.

The minister voiced hope for enthusiastic voters turn out and underlined the democratic model of Iran’s regime in the whole region as a role model for all neighbors.

It is worth to thank God that in our country the nation determines its fate and this is a model of permanent attendance of the nation in ruling over their destiny in the whole region, affirmed Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.

The official attributed the current status of democracy in Iran to all endeavors undertaken by the late Leader of Islamic Revolution and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the establishment of democracy in Iran.

President Rouhani has ordered the ministry to provide a ground for having a glorious and legal election, said Rahmani Fazli reassuring that he feels obliged to meticulously follow the laws of the election under the supervision of the Guardian Council.
