Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi, on the sidelines of a scientific conference in Tehran on Thursday, was questioned by the journalists on the latest talks on implementing the JCPOA, the IRIB reported.
He confirmed that, according to the agreement, Iran would export enriched uranium material and buy natural uranium or yellow cake in return.
On redesigning the heavy water reactor of Arak, Salehi dismissed that the domestic regulations of the Sextet countries must give yes in order to proceed the change and clarified that all the sextet states are obliged to cooperate in line with their internal law.
On the fate of the file of the so-called possible military dimensions (PMD) report, Salehi voiced hope that the result would serve Iran’s interests.
Answering a question on the time of implementation of the JCPOA, the Iranian official asserted that all the steps have been taken on time and the agreement in expected in practice in early January 2016.
Salehi also evaluated the results of the meetings of Iran’s delegation in Vienna and described the meetings positive and constructive.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araghchi wrapped up his meetings on implementing the JCPOA on Wednesday in Venna.
