TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (MNA) – Iranian film Risk of Acid Rain, directed by Behtash Sanaeiha, won the jury’s special prize at the 2nd International Film Festival of Colombo (Nov. 6-11).

The Iranian flick recently won the Netpac Award in Australia and was the winner of Best Script in the First Films Category at Fajr International Film Festival in 2015.

It is a minimal poetic story that depicts the life of Manouchehr, a 60-year-old retiree from a tobacco company, who still insists on going to work while struggling with the loneliness of retirement. When his mother passes away, Manouchehr; who is unmarried with no other relatives sets off on a journey to try to find his one and only old friend in Tehran.

International Film Festival Colombo 2015 (IFFC 2015) is a major international film festival organized by the Film Directors’ Guild of Sri Lanka and partnered by Ceylon Theatres and National Film Corporation. It showcases films from a variety of countries and varied cinema disciplines.
