TEHRAN, Nov. 04 (MNA) – Iran’s President Rouhani in a message to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered his congratulations on the victory of his party in the country's recent parliamentary elections.

In his message on Tuesday evening, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the mass participation of the Turkish people in the elections to establish a strong and cohesive government indicated the nation’s determination to build a bright future.

Wishing good health and success for Erdogan and prosperity for the brotherly and neighborly country of Turkey, Rouhani then expressed hope that the elections results would further improve relations between the two neighboring countries.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham also on Monday extended her congratulations to the Turkish government and nation on the successful parliamentary elections.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AK Party) won a victory in Sunday’s parliamentary elections securing almost 50 percent of the votes and claiming about 325 seats in the 550-seat parliament.
