TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – University of Tehran president has said visit by delegation of heads of Iranian great universities to Russia helped establish Persian Language and Iranology departments in Russian universities.

Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi told Mehr News on Saturday that the presidents of 10 Iranian universities sat in meetings with their Russian counterparts to discuss different issues, notably establishing of an international union of Iranian and Russian universities.

“They also agreed on student and professor and researcher exchange, international joint research projects, and establishing of Persian language and Iranology departments in Russian select universities and similar centers for Russian Studies in Iranian universities,” Nili Ahmadabadi told Mehr News.

“The Iranian-Russian universities MoU will be operational upon being signed; we also welcomed holding of the future meeting of Iranian and Russian universities here in Tehran,” he added.

The first round of the event was held in Moscow with 10 Iranian and 19 Russian universities.
