TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (MNA) – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said countries with no records of elections are not allowed to comment on democracy and its rules.

“It is cynicism to dscribe Syrian condition as dangerous, especially when the claim is made by states without any election over the past 80 years,” asserted Ali Larijani, Iran's Speaker of Parliament, responding to questions posed by reporters after his address at the 'Societies between War and Peace: Overcoming the Logic of Conflict in Tomorrow's World Conference' in Sochi, Russia on Thursday.

Referring to Saudi regime of autocracy, he affirmed that countries with ban over women’s driving are not legitimate to comment on democracy.

Larijani’s comment came after KSA’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir has been quoted by media to have been calling for a united and democratic Syria.

“The disintegration of Syria is a reward for the terrorists and a major strategic blunder,” Larijani reassured adding that the success of Russians in a very short time questions the reliability of the measures taken by or the promises made by the international coalition over the past 18 months.

He condemned the so-called international coalition’s immovability in response to oil selling of ISIL via visible tankers.

“Although they monitor the tankers selling oil for the ISIL, they do nothing against them,” said Larijani.

Then presupposing that Americans do not act seriously against the ISIL in Syria due to opposition to Assad, Larijani inquired the reason behind doing nothing against the ISIL in Iraq.

The senior Iranian MP noted that some officials of some countries, during their visits to Tehran, have been reassuring Iran over the past five years that Assad is falling ‘but the things did not go as they said,’ because the situation is not as bad as they describe.’
