TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (MNA) – Esteghlal of Tehran won Naft of the city 2-1 in a rearranged fixture of round 5 of Iran’s Pro League of soccer.

The only remaining fixture of the 5th round which was postponed to let Naft focus on their Asian games was held on Monday at Azadi Stadium of Tehran.

Esteghlal’s listless victory brought Sepahan down from the top of the table where the clash is over 1 point between Esteghlal with 15 points and Sepahan with 14 followed by Esteghlal of Khuzestan and Zowbahan of Isfahan who have garnered 11 and 10 points respectively so far.

While the two teams finished 1-1 at the end of the first half, Esteghlal was awarded a penalty in the second half which was converted by Omid Ebrahimi at the 57th minute to let the blues snatch the three points.
