TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s Javad Zarif received Japanese parliamentary vice-minister for foreign affairs, discussed mutual ties post-JCPOA.

Mr. Kentaro Sonoura met with Mr. Zarif on Sunday, where they discussed the prospects of mutual ties in the new era ushered in by the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers. “Post-JCPOA era has provided great opportunities for both countries in economic cooperation; Japan could restore its former position in Iranian economy through investments in Iran’s wide economic sectors,” Zarif told the Japanese official.

On the future meeting between President Rouhani and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Zarif said that the meeting would promote Iran-Japan relations to new highs.

Kentaro Sonoura for his part, expressed satisfaction for his visit to Tehran; “Iran is a great and beautiful country and I am very happy for visiting the country; Japan evaluates relations with Iran highly and we hope to see more extended economic relations between the two countries,” he added. “The upcoming visit by Japanese foreign minister to Iran will address diverse issues including fighting against ISIL and the possible ways of restoring peace and stability to the region,” Sonoura told Iran’s foreign minister, handing his boss’s written message to Zarif.
