TEHRAN, Sep. 20 (MNA) – Iran and Serbia have agreed to boost ties in the field of tourism.

Advisor to head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Rajab-Ali Khosroabadi and Serbia's Deputy Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Renata Pindzo held a meeting on Saturday in Belgrade to review a draft agreement on expansion of cooperation in the area of tourism.

The officials said that the capacities of Iran-Serbia’s tourism and cultural heritage are vast and hoped that their tourism-based ties will develop following the agreement to be inked during the upcoming 14th meeting of joint commission.  

Khosroabadi, who left for Iran late on Saturday, said “it’s a great time for foreign tourists to visit Iran particularly Serbians.” Also talking about Iran’s tourist attractions and culture he added “besides the rich Iranian culture and history, the tourists will be attracted to hospitality of the Iranians as well.”

Renata Pindzo, for his part, talked about Iran’s successful participation at Belgrade Tourism Fair, held two years ago, and suggested for Iran to be the guest of honor at the upcoming fair which is slated for next year.

The meeting was also attended by Iran's Cultural Attaché to Serbia Mahmoud Shalouei.
