Iran is currently installing a radar which is called Qaem-e Al Muhammad and covers as far as 1,000 kilometers, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Commander Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said on Monday.
The commander did not recount the exact location of the new radar, due to security concerns, but added that the new system will give a full account of regional activities.
Earlier the general had attended the inauguration ceremony of Ghadir system - a long range 3-dimentional radar - in southwestern part of Iran.
Also another ambitious monitoring project called Sepehr Radar System, which is able to keep tabs on enemy bases as far as 3,000 kilometers away, is in the last steps to be inaugurated.
