TEHRAN, Sep. 14 (MNA) – Deputy science minister for international affairs has announced the arrival of two German delegations to set the ground for future activities with Iranian universities.

“Two academic delegations from Germany arrived in Tehran on Sunday and their visit will last for three days,” reported Hossein Salar Amoli.

Amoli stated that these delegations belong to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Max Planck Institute in Germany.

On the possibility of signing an MoU, deputy minister for international affairs said that, “the delegations will visit some universities merely to set the path for future activities and will not necessarily sign a memorandum of understanding."

Pointing that during the meeting with these committees the development of mutual cooperation was negotiated, Salar Amoli added that, “we have made plans to support joint research programs by Iranian and German scientists.”

“Max Planck Institute has 83 research centers in Germany which can receive Iranian professors and researchers in order to carry out the defined joint projects between the two countries,” he continued. “Recently a delegation from Austria also visited Tehran and eight MoUs were signed between the universities of Iran and Austria on the expansion of scientific cooperation."
