TEHRAN, Sep. 13 (MNA) – South Korean companies own valuable experiences in Iran’s market and need to take advantage of the competitive atmosphere created after the nuclear deal, said deputy FM for Asia-Pacific affairs.

South Korea’s Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Kim Hong-kyun travelled to Tehran at the invitation of Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asian and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour to attend the third round of Political Consultations Mechanism Meeting on Sep. 11.

Similar to the previous meetings, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in bilateral ties, regional and international issues, the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields especially in the new atmosphere created after the agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group on JCPOA and expressed readiness to hold a joint economic commission in order to draw long-term prospects of bilateral cooperation by defining a ten-year action plan for various areas.

Pointing to the recent visits to Iran made by Korean officials, Kim Hong-kyun asserted that, “the minister of land, infrastructure and transport as well as his country’s deputy trade minister’s trips to Tehran followed the aim of drawing and evaluating the actual prospect of bilateral relations after the removal of sanctions and expressed hope that Iranian officials will provide better conditions for Korean companies to invest in Iran.”

Welcoming the upcoming visit of the Korean foreign minister to Tehran, Ebrahim Rahimpour also expressed hope that South Korean companies will exploit all the capacities to enter Iran’s market which has become competitive after the nuclear deal.

Reffering to the developments in the region of Korean Peninsula, South Korea’s deputy minister for political affairs hailed the sincere efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in hosting Afghan refugees denouncing the brutal terrorist acts of the ISIL Group emphasizing the need for international cooperation to confront terrorism and extremism.
