Dareh Anjir Wildlife Refuge in Ardakan is home to unique constellation of conserved areas of the Yazd provincial Department of Environment; a variegated topography and diverse habitats, the refuge provides excellent conditions for different wildlife species especially Asiatic cheetah.
On last August, installing monitoring cameras in the wildlife refuge was launched by close cooperation of Association for Protecting Asiatic Cheetah. Cameras cover a wide area. They captured a rare and beautiful glimpse of Asiatic cheetah as its prominent feat. Dareh Anjir wildlife refuge is one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the province, where Asiatic cheetah had been spotted frequently in recent past two years. The wildlife refuge covers areas in 25km east of the local center of the Kharaneq prefecture.
To the happiness of wildlife lovers, despite the several spells of drought and the severe impact upon the flora of the region, the wildlife refuge hosts yet a proportionately high number of grazing wildlife, thanks to the efforts of the rangers working continuously to protect the wildlife in its most pristine conditions.
