Nasrollah Zargham, president of Iran National Science Foundation (INSF), said Iran’s request for membership in the Austria-based International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) has been accepted and five Iranian post-doctoral students are expected to start their education there.
Being the IIASA’s 25th member, Iran can now have access to the facilities of all other member states, he said.
“In order to join the international institute, a number of research groups have been formed between the INFS and the IIASA in the fields of water, energy, environment, climate change, and global warming,” he said.
The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is an international research organization located in Austria. IIASA conducts interdisciplinary scientific studies on environmental, economic, technological and social issues in the context of human dimensions of global change.
