Iran improved the place by one ranking. On Thursday, FIFA announced its August ranking of countries football national squads, where Iran earned 716 points to top Asian teams, ahead of its traditional rivals as South Korea which is 57th in the world; Japan, which stands in 58th place behind its continental neighbor; and Australia, which is in 61st place in world ranking.
Behind this quartet, the Asian landscape is populated by modest national squads as UAE, Uzbekistan, Iraq (surprising, since the country is facing chaotic situation with rise of ISIL), China, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
Argentina, as in last month, still rules the roost with 1442 points, only to see Belgium, Germany, Columbia, Brazil, Portugal, Romania, Chile, Wales, and Spain behind itself, which stand in 2nd -10th FIFA rankings.
