Larijani, attending the Fourth World Conference of Parliament Speakers in New York, met the delegations of Tunasia, Slovenia, Georgia, Italy, Croatia and Azerbaijan, Iranian scholars in New York as well as US Jewish anti-Zionist society.
During Larijani’s meeting with the anti-Zionist society, the head of the group Rabbi Moshe Dov Beck said that Iran is a significant country with faithful, civilized and compassionate people who indeed enjoy a rich history and culture.
New York’s Jewish society is not a political formation he said and added “We seek to adhere to the teachings of Torah and God and promoting the pure Jewish ideas is our main objective.”
He also noted that Zionism is a political movement and the goals it follows are not in coordination with Jewish teachings.
For his part, Larijani said: “All the Jews around the world supported the latest nuclear deal and believe that it is in line with the world’s stability and peace. Only the Zionist regime counters it.”
Moreover he visited his Slovenian counterpart Milan Brglez who welcomed the deal on Iran's nuclear program in Vienna.
Larijani said that Iran is keen on expanding its economic and political ties with Slovenia.
The Iranian official also met with his Tunisian counterpart saying that Tunasia is a brother and friend country. The Islamic republic is ready to offer its experiences in different fields of security, trade and economic infrastructures, underlined Larijani.
The Tunisian official also announced his country's readiness to cooperat with Iran. Both parties meanwhile emphasized the necessity of cooperation on fighting terrorism.
Larijani meeting his Georgian counterpart David Usupashvili, admired the friendly ties of two countries. Development of economic ties and cooperation of fields of energy and infrastructures were discussed by two officials.
Meeting with his Italian counterpart, Laura Boldrini, the Iranian official said that Iran and Italy’s trade ties were great and we hope to expand our parliament-based ties for boosting the relations.”
Both parties can also cooperate in fields of tourism and energy he added.
Boldrini, for her part, also noted that Italy will welcome the opportunity for reviving its ties with Iran and is eager to develop its official meeting with Iranian officials.
Iranian parliament speaker also met his Croatian counterpart Josip Leko who said his country welcomes expanding ties with Iran.
On the last day of his trip, Larijani also meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ogtay Asadov. The Iranian official said that the Republic of Azerbaijan is a great route for transferring Iran’s gas to Europe. He also asked for expanding the ties in political and economic fields.
The Iranian official also met the Iranian scholars living in New York saying that they are indeed precious investments for Iran, urging their cultural and commercial investment in Iran. He underlined that Iran is willing to benefit from the cooperation of Iranians residing in foreign countris and the government plans to remove all obstacles of their cooperation and investment as it is a key factor in development and peogress of the country.
