Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Tunisia to start his new round of regional tours following Iran’s July 14 nuclear deal with 5+1 group of countries.
During the visit, Zarif is scheduled to meet and talk with the Tunisian authorities about issues of mutual interest and Algeria will be the next destination of Zarif and his delegation.
This is the third regional visit of Iranian official after visits to the countries in the region including Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, India, and Pakistan.
Avenues for promoting bilateral ties with major North African countries, latest regional and international developments such as diplomatic settlement to the humanitarian crisis gripping Syria, Yemen and Libya are top on agenda of Zarif’s negotiations with the two North African governments.
