BEIJING, Aug. 28 (MNA) – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran who is visiting China met with Chinese FM Wang Yi on Thursday.

On the second day of his visit to Chinese capital city of Beijing, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

During the meeting, Wang Yi expressed satisfaction with Salehi’s trip to China and voiced hope that the visit would lead to fruitful results in Tehran-Beijing relations.

The Chinese Foreign Minister also highlighted the significance of the visit made by Iranian delegation in the current global situation and called it a manifestation of the serious ties between the two nations.

In addition, Wang Yi valued the meetings between Iranian delegation and Chinese side as important steps in broadening Sino-Iranian cooperation.

The Chinese FM also expressed hope that the imminent travel of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tehran will pave the way for strategic cooperation between Iran and China.

Meanwhile, Wang Yi invited his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to visit China.

The two sides hailed the Chinese president’s proposal for reviving the Silk Road and assured that Islamic Republic of Iran’s welcoming of the proposal will make the plan successful.
