TEHRAN, Aug. 26 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that Iran has always been ready to talk with the Persian Gulf states.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been ready for negotiations with the Persian Gulf states and they should show willingness as well, Zarif told reporters at the meeting which was arranged to commemorate Shahid Rajaee and Shahid Bahonar on August 25.

To a question on reopening the UK embassy in Tehran, he said, "Iran did not close down UK embassy and it was British officials themselves who closed it; thus they opened it themselves."

On reopening of the European Union office in Tehran, he said the EU has never had an office in Tehran to reopen, adding that no negotiations have been arranged yet with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini regarding the issue.

On the venue and date of summit of the G-7 industrial states, Zarif said it was not clear yet.
