TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) – Iran’s juniors’ Greco-Roman national squad has faced difficult draw in World Championships being held in Brazil.

The draws for first four weight categories were made in Salvador Bahia, Brazil on Tuesday, which produced tough rivals for Iran’s juniors. In 50kg category, Iran’s Reza Khedri faced an off draw in the first round, but in the second round he will fight Murat Hakan from Turkey, and if he defeats Hakan, will go to fight the winner of Brazil-Ukraine match in the third round.

In 60kg category, Erfan Saadatifar will have Georgian Samavadze, and in case of defeating him, Saadatifar will face Turkey-Ukraine match winner. The category sees 22 wrestlers fighting for podium; Saadatifar has rivals consisting of a constellation of strong wrestlers from Armenia, Azerbaijan Republic, Japan, and Kazakhstan.

In 74kg category, 23 wrestlers attended weighing ceremony and Iran’s Omid Ebrahimi will wrestle with Ukrainian Yaroslav Filchak, and should fight the winner of Georgia-Hungary match if he succeeds to defeat the Ukrainian. Wrestlers from Azerbaijan Republic, Russia, and Armenia are Ebrahimi’s rivals.

In 96kg category, Amir Hossein Hosseini will face Estonian Kevin Bouman in the second round after a first round off draw. The winner of Azerbaijan-US match will find Hosseini if he defeats Estonian junior wrestler. 18 wreslers will fight for the platform in this category, with Kazakh and Russian wrestlers being the most formidable rivals.

The second 4 categories will kick of the matches on Wednesday, where Iran’s Meisam Alikhani in 55kg, Ali Arsalan in 66kg, Mehdi Fallah in 84kg, and Hamidreza Karimi in 120kg categories will face their rivals.
