On the first leg of his regional tour, Zarif held talks with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah on Sunday on a whole host of issues, including the successful conclusion of nuclear talks between Tehran and six world states.
Pointing to the recent deal between Iran and 5+1, Zarif described nuclear manufactured crisis as an unnecessary obstacle on the way of expanding cooperation with other countries.
"Today regional cooperation is an urgent and vital necessity for all the countries involved," he underlined.
"Regional countries, particularly neighbors have always been a top priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop ties and cooperation with in all fields," Iranian FM reiterated, adding that the country has always been after establishing stability and security in the region.
Kuwaiti Emir, for his part, congratulated conclusion of nuclear negotiations with the 5+1 to the Iranian FM.
Welcoming the development of regional cooperation between Iran and the Persian Gulf states, Sheikh Sabah highlighted the need for cooperation to combat terrorism and extremism in the region.
Zarif's tour of regional countries, which began on Sunday, aims to convey the message of friendship and to strengthen regional collaborations, Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Middle Eastern Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is accompanying the Iranian top diplomat, said.
