The 14th edition of Countryside Animafest Cyprus Views of the World included a variety of sidebar events as well as a longer program of screenings with the themes of innovation, humor, politics and poetry.
The Iranian animation ‘When I Was a Child’ directed by Maryam Kashkoulinia was screened at the international event as Iran’s only representative.
The animation has previously been screened in several international festivals including the 39th edition of Hong Kong International Film Festival as well as the 12th edition of Netherlands International Film Festival.
Countryside Animafest Cyprus Grand Prix in the International Competition went to Track by Nagata Takeshi and Kazue Monno (Japan) and the first prize for the National Competition section went to the film 24/7 by Rebbeca Stylianou.
According to the event’s website, the Festival aims at raising audience awareness and promoting cultural, financial and social development in the field of Independent artistic animation.
