A delegation from Allameh Tabataba'i University, the leading University in the Humanities and Social Sciences in the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited prominent Russian universities on June 1-3 and signed a Memorandum with St. Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences (SPbUHSS) and Moscow State Linguistic University and the University of Human Sciences University.
The Memorandum was signed by the Rector of SPbUHSS academician Alexander Zapesotsky and the Rector of Allameh Tabataba’i University professor Hossein Salimi.
This document determines the main areas of the collaboration such as joint scientific-educational projects implementing, organization of conferences, seminars, lectures, preparation and publication of joint scientific and informational materials, academic exchange professors and students.
Salimi visited the Center for Iranian Studies at the Moscow Human Sciences University and was briefed on its activities.
He also invited the Rector of SPbUHSS to visit Iran in September.
Allameh Tabataba’i University was founded in 1983 based on 24 independent colleges. Within over three decades, it became the largest specialized state University in the Humanities and Social Sciences on the Middle East. There are more than 18,000 students studying at seven departments of the University.
Allameh Tabataba’i University is recognized by the Ministry of Science, Researches and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the main scientific center in Economics, Psychology and Education.
St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences, established in 1926, is one of the pioneers in higher humanitarian education in Russia.
For the last 20 years, the University has become one of the leaders of Russian high educational institutions. Today there are more than 12,000 students studying at the university.
