TEHRAN, May 25 (MNA) – Iranian Telecommunications Minister Mahmoud Vaezi heading a delegation has left for the Swiss city of Geneva on Monday to attend the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2015.

Iranian Telecommunications Minister Mahmoud Vaezi is due to deliver a policy statement during the High-Level Track Forum (26–27 May 2015) attended by high-ranking officials of the wider WSIS Stakeholder community, representing the government, private Sector, civil society, academia and international organizations.

Vaezi will also meet with a number of officials and counterparts on the sidelines of the Forum.

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2015 will be held in International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Headquarters, Geneva, between 25 and 29 May 2015.

The overall theme of the WSIS Forum 2015 is "Innovating Together: Enabling ICTs for Sustainable Development."

The WSIS Forum 2015 represents the world’s largest annual gathering of the ‘ICT for development’ community. 

This forum will provide structured opportunities to network, learn and participate in multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations on WSIS implementation.
