MOSCOW, May 22 (MNA) – At a meeting in Moscow, Iranian and Russian officials signed a pact to develop tourism, culture and science cooperation.

A consular cooperation pact was signed between Iranian and Russian Consular Director Generals Ali Chegini and Yevgeni Ivanov during a ceremony in the Russian capital on Friday.

The cooperation pact covers areas such as issuing visas and establishing consular services for the two countries' nationals to exchange visits.

The Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei was also present in the meeting.

Regarding the issuance of visas, the businessmen, industrialists, tourists, investors, truck-owners, university professors and students, artists and cultural groups have been prioritized.

It is noteworthy that as soon as the cooperation is in practice, the negotiations, the volume of trade exchange in economic, trade and tourism sectors as well as joint ventures will considerably thrive.

The cooperation pact is considered as a base for the expansion of mutual cooperation in different areas. Chegini also paid a visit to Tatarstan where he met with Tatar Prime Minister Eldar Khaliqov about ways to broaden relations.
