AEOI speaker urges Europeans to oppose US

TEHRAN, Dec. 04 (MNA) – Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran referred to the future JCPOA meeting and said “it is our urgent request that Europeans take practical measures to oppose Americans and pressure Washington.”

Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi announced that the meeting of the joint commission of JCPOA will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Vienna. Referring to the agenda of the meeting he said “this commission usually concerns itself with technical, political, legal and economic issues, but in this particular meeting no specific technical issue will be discussed. It is possible, however, for issues to be raised during the negotiations. For this reason, officials of AEOI attend the meeting.”

“Since AEOI has so far verified our adherence to JCPOA for nine times, the issues discussed in the Joint commission are important, especially because Americans must honor their commitments. we also submit our requests in this meeting,” he added.

Kamalvani underlined Trump’s referring the case of Iran’s commitment to JCPOA to the congress and asserted “Americans had better make the right decisions, because our hands are not tied and if they don’t honor their commitment we will take measures accordingly so that we tip the balance to our own favor once again. It is upon the High Supervisory Committee on Implementation of the JCPOA to take these concerns into account with respect to later changes and domestic events in the US.”

“Americans have to make a choice. The dilemma they face is that they cannot both keep JCPOA and maintain sanctions and pressure Iran,” he added.

The spokesman of AEOI said “the leader of the Islamic Revolution said that if the Islamic Republic of Iran decides to rebuild its nuclear capabilities, the situation will be radically different. Although Iran now produces 60000 SWUs, it can enrich Uranium up to 100,000 SWUs in one year and a half.”

Concerning the Yukia Amano’s flawed interpretation of clause T of his recent report on the nuclear activities of Iran, Kamalvandi said “in clause 26 of this report no explicit mention of clause T has been made. It has mentioned various clauses such as D, E, H and T and has stated that the verification process of these clauses, especially clause T, is going on.”

Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs said “the Islamic Republic of Iran does not reformulate its nuclear policies with respect to Europeans’ stance.”

Referring to the future JCPOA meeting Kamalvandi said “it is our urgent request that Europeans take practical measures to oppose Americans and pressure Washington.”
