Speaking at a meeting with Russia’s State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on Friday, Larijani said that Iran has borne huge costs to achieve the agreement and he expects that Moscow will contribute to settling the issues around the deal.
"If they (US) act like it then there will be hardly anything left from this agreement. So a new issue will arise on the international arena," he said at a meeting with Volodin.
Emphesizing that the US exit from the JCPOA wmeans the termination of the nuclear deal, Larijani pointed out that Tehran will respond to US' possible withdrawal from the agreement.
US President Donald Trump is set to announce Washington's new strategy towards Iran on Friday and is expected to reverse Washington’s stance on the nuclear deal.
The speech comes after the Washington Post reported on that Trump intended to "decertify" the nuclear deal with Iran. Under the terms of the current nuclear agreement, Trump has until October 15 to certify Iran's compliance.
